1. great first episode! i’m enjoying it a lot BUT i am turned off by 2 things.

   1) the kiss. she is in HIGH SCHOOL and kissed an older man. it doesn’t sit right with me and the fact that young high schoolers might romanticize this kind of thing…. yikes. there was no consent. i get that she was 19 because it was 3 YEARS LATER but the situation is still weird.

   2) dreads. as a nonblack person, i feel sorry that they have to see this kind of thing in shows and movies all the time. the fact that his friend has dreads and they showed flies in his dreads as if they are trying to imply that he is “dirty”. i don’t know why they decided to make his character this way….

   none the less, i will still watch and enjoy.

3. The dreads really turned me off, like I’m not even black but I got offended. How can you associate dreads with being dirty? It’s clearly pure racism or ignorance, but if you want to “use” or include different culture you shouldn’t associate them with prejudices ! Disappointed

4. Really dont understand how u cant comprehend the fact that dreads were not created soley by black people. It can be seen people in multiple different countries had dreads and had nothing to do with black people.Just look at ancient china you think they rocked dreads cause they saw black people rockin it or something? Overall point is dreads were not soley created by black people, it has been around in various countries for centuries nobody can say their people invented it as its nearly impossible and useless to find the first person to ever rock a dread. Dont be so
   ignorant to think that its such a simple answer when in reality its not. Really dont get this dread for non blacks are culture appropriation cause it can easily be debunked as various factors comes to play and its not like we know every single bit of information of the past and who created what as everyone likes to claim they created everything.
